Cast Change: Ballet Supreme in July 2017

We have received the news that Sarah Lamb will be unable to participate in the performances of Ballet Supreme in July 2017 due to an injury. Steven McRae, the team leader of The Royal Ballet, has appointed Fumi Kaneko to join the team.

Accordingly, some changes will be made to the originally announced casting and program as below. Your kind understanding is highly appreciated.

Program A
Apollo → Pas de deux from Romeo and Juliet
Sarah Lamb, Federico Bonelli → Francesca Hayward, Federico Bonelli

Program B
Concerto → Pas de deux from the second act of Swan Lake
Sarah Lamb, Federico Bonelli → Fumi Kaneko, Federico Bonelli

Fumi Kaneko

Fumi Kaneko is a Soloist of The Royal Ballet. She joined the Company during the 2010/11 Season and was promoted to First Artist in 2012 and Soloist in 2013.

Kaneko trained at the Jinushi Kaoru Ballet School, Osaka. She won gold medal at the Varna International Ballet Competition, 2008, and silver medals at the Moscow International Ballet Competition, 2009, and the USA International Ballet Competition, 2010. That year she joined the Jinushi Kaoru Ballet Company, where her roles included Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy (The Nutcracker) and Kitri (Don Quixote).

Kaneko's repertory with The Royal Ballet includes Kitri, Kitri's Friend and Queen of the Dryads (Don Quixote), Sugar Plum Fairy and Fairy of the Woodland Glade (The Sleeping Beauty), Gypsy Girl (The Two Pigeons), Moyna (Giselle) and roles in Viscera, The Four Temperaments, Swan Lake, Sweet Violets, Limen, Infra, 'Diana and Actaeon' (Metamorphosis: Titian 2012) and Woolf Works.
