The Tokyo Ballet: International tours to Italy (2026) and France (2027)

The Tokyo Ballet is delighted to announce its European tours to Italy for 2026 and France for 2027. They will be the Company's 37th international tour and the 38th respectively. Having given 799 international performances in 158 cities across 33 countries, the Company will be returning to Italy in December 2026 with a mixed program for the first time following the successful tour in 2024, to mark its 800th international performance. Details of the Italian tour will be announced in May 2026.

In May 2027, The Tokyo Ballet is delighted to be returning to the Palais Garnier in Paris, for the first time in 15 years. At the prestigious theater, the Company has guest performed two full-length ballets created for the Company by Maurice Béjart, on its three tours; The Kabuki in 1986 in three performances; M in 1993 in 6 performances;  The Kabuki again in 2012 in 6 performances. In May 2027, the Company presents the third full-length ballet created for the Company, KAGUYAHIME, by Jo Kanamori, world premiered in 2023. Inspired by the oldest Japanese surviving piece of prose fiction "The Tale of Bamboo Cutter", Kanamori has wonderfully drawn universal themes, love and desire, to the music of Claude Debussy.

Performance Dates at the Palais Garnier: Wednesday 26 May - Saturday 29 May 2027, with five performances  of KAGUYAHIME

Further details of the French tour will be announced at a later date.
