Tous les hommes presque toujours s'imaginent

On their 18th Japan tour (including the tours of the predecessor, the Ballet du XXe Siècle), the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, the Béjart Ballet Lausanne will bring two amazing programs. A triple bill featuring Tous les hommes presque toujours s'imaginent, a new creation by Artistic Director Gil Roman, along with Boléro by Maurice Béjart and one more. The other program will be Ballet for Life, a legendary masterpiece created by Maurice Béjart to the music of Queen and Mozart, with costumes by Gianni Versace.

It was 1967 that Maurice Béjart toured to Japan for the first time with his Ballet du XXe Siècle, which caused a huge sensation. He washed away old convention and brought about revolution in choreography. His deep insight into not only ballet but also into dramatic art, movies, literature, philosophy and religions kept him creating on the cutting edge of performing arts throughout his life. Gil Roman, long-time dance star, took over the Béjart Ballet Lausanne as artistic director after Béjart's death in 2007. Inheriting Bejart's legacy, Roman has been ever evolving the Company with his creation at the forefront of contemporary dance.

Message from Brian May, Queen

"I hope all our fans and friends will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity once again to see the most incredible and original ballet built around the music of Mozart and Queen, by ballet's most audacious creator, our sadly missed great friend Maurice Béjart."
