The Australian Ballet returns to Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Japan from 30 May to 1 June 2025 for the first time in 15 years. It will mark the Company's seventh Japan tour, and the first under the leadership of Artistic Director David Hallberg.

The Australian Ballet will bring one of the iconic works in the Company's repertoire, Don Quixote by Rudolf Nureyev whose association with the Company began in 1964, two years after its foundation, when he and Margot Fonteyn guest performed in the newly formed Company's Swan Lake and Giselle. In 1970, Nureyev created a new production of Don Quixote for The Australian Ballet with sets and costumes by renowned Australian designer Barry Kay. An abundance of bravura dancing with the lavish sets and costumes will be a showcase of the entire Company, not to be missed.
