We are delighted to present, alongside our co-presenters Spring Festival in Tokyo Executive Committee and Nikkei Inc., three performances of Mozart's Don Giovanni, conducted by Riccardo Muti, at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan on Monday 24, Thursday 29 April and Friday 1 May 2026.
Riccardo Muti will revive Chiara Muti's production of Don Giovanni, a co-production of Teatro Regio Torino and Teatro Massimo Di Palermo. It had its world premiere at the Teatro Regio di Torino in 2022, in 5 sold-out performances. In Tokyo, it will be sung by the same stellar cast that Riccardo Muti thoughtfully curated for the world premiere and performed by Tokyo-HARUSAI Festival Orchestra and Tokyo Opera Singers, the trusted orchestra and chorus by Muti after many years of collaboration.
In Japan, Riccardo Muti has already conducted two of the Mozart-Da Ponte trilogy, Così fan tutte and Le nozze di Figaro, but he will conduct Don Giovanni for the first time.
They will be the last performances of an opera in full production at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan before its temporary closure for renovation from May 2025. Don't miss out this special opportunity!
