Cast Changes: The Royal Ballet's La Fille mal gardée (5 July matinée) and Giselle (12 July)
It is with regret that we announce that The Royal Ballet's Principal Akane Takada has had to withdraw from the Company's Japan tour in July due to an injury which will not be sufficiently healed by then for her to perform as Lise in La Fille mal gardée and the title role in Giselle.
For the performance of La Fille mal gardée on Sunday 5 July at 13:00 at Kawaguchi LILIA FUKAGAWA MIRAI HALL, a replacement cast is still under discussion and will be announced as soon as confirmed.
For the performance of Giselle on Sunday 12 July at 17:00 at NHK Hall, Principal Francesca Hayward will replace her in the title role, opposite Cesar Corales in the role of Albrecht.
We apologise to our valued audiences who have been anticipating the appearances of Akane Takada in the two ballets, but appreciate everyone's kind understanding for the unavoidable situation. At the same time, we hope you will enjoy the outstanding performances with the new casting.
