here for Ballet Supreme ― All-star gala with dancers from The Royal Ballet and the Paris Opera Ballet ― to be held with 9 performances, from Friday 1 to Monday 11 August at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan.
It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that Mathias Heymann and Guillaume Diop, Étoiles of the Paris Opera Ballet, have become unable to participate in Ballet Supreme. Please read the message below from Mathias Heymann to audiences.
However, we are delighted to announce additional artists who will perform in Program C: Roberto Bolle, as a special guest, and Lorenzo Lelli and Milo Avêque, Sujet and Coryphée respectively of the Paris Opera Ballet.
Message from Mathias Heymann
It is with deep sadness that I write to you today to inform you of my withdrawal from the artistic project planned this summer in Japan.
For personal health reasons, I am unfortunately unable to participate in this wonderful adventure as I would have liked. This decision was extremely difficult to make, given my immense attachment to Japan, its artists, its audiences, and the welcome you have always extended to me.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all those who, year after year, have worked with such generosity and professionalism to ensure that each visit is an exceptional moment. Thanks to you, dancing in Japan has always been an experience of rare intensity, both artistic and human.
I have a particularly moving thought for the Japanese audience, whose sensitivity, loyalty, and attentive gaze have nourished each of my performances. This precious bond we have forged over time remains a source of inspiration and strength for me.
I wish you all a summer rich in creativity, sharing, and beauty. I sincerely hope that our paths will cross again soon.
With all my gratitude and respect,
Mathias
